Contest Invitation For the launch of Thailand Virtual Exhibition GSSD Expo 2022 Applications now open until 12 March 2022

The Global South-South Development (GSSD) Expo 2022 will be co-hosted by the Government of Thailand, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) under the theme “Advancing South-South and Triangular Cooperation for Sustainable COVID-19 Recovery: Towards a Smart and Resilient Future”. The GSSD Expo 2022 is scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 September 2022 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, to showcase evidence-based successful development solutions and initiatives, in collaboration with United Nations agencies and all partners. 

This will be the 11th GSSD Expo, the first one to be hosted in the Asia-Pacific region and the first to be convened in hybrid formats, both in person and virtually, leveraging the latest digital technology. The GSSD Expo 2022 features online activities, which began in November 2021 and will lead up to the main event in September 2022.

As part of the GSSD Expo 2022, Thailand, through Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will launch Thailand Virtual Exhibition in March 2022 to showcase Thailand’s best practices and development approach. Leading up to the launch, TICA invites you to participate in 3 types of contest, namely slogan, photo and video clip contests. 

PHOTO Contest

The photo entry must relate to your travel, study/training or work in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Central Asia, Middle East, or South Pacific Island, describing your own experience and telling an interesting story about, among others, tourism, people-people connection, sustainable development, food, culture and education.

1. Criteria

The contest is open to both Thai nationals and foreigners residing in Thailand. Participants must be 13 years of age or above (secondary, vocational, university students, and general public).

2. Contest Guidelines

Must be a photo of yourself or taken with your friends/ colleagues/ family.
2.2
Must be about your travel, study/training or working in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Central Asia, Middle East, or South Pacific Islands.
2.3
Description/ story must be in Thai or English and not exceed 100 words.
2.4
Must not have received any previous awards.
2.5
Must not contain material that infringes upon good morals, third party rights and any copyright.
2.6
Photo entries that do not follow the terms and conditions will be disqualified.
2.7
Each contestant can submit only ONE photo entry and must provide personal information and own contact details i.e., name and surname, age, address, phone number and e-mail address.
2.8
All photo entries will become the joint property of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contestants. TICA, together with its partners, reserves the right to use and disseminate the photo entries without prior permission from contestants.

Clarity of narrative/story, not exceeding 100 words (20 marks)

Winner 20,000 Baht

One prize for 1st runner-up 10,000 Baht

One prizes for 2nd runners-up 2,000 Baht/each
